Cindy Goliber has served as Town Clerk/Tax Collector and Registrar for the Town of Potsdam since 1996. She is a lifelong resident of Potsdam, home to Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam, which is located in St. Lawrence County. Both her mother and great-great uncle also served as town clerks in her hometown.
Currently NYSTCA President, Cindy has served in a variety of positions including Vice President, Secretary, District Director and Registration Chair. She has obtained the honor of Registered Municipal Clerk and recently attended the Cornell Municipal Clerk’s Institute and is working toward attaining her Certified Municipal Clerk’s certification.
Cindy’s professional activities also include serving on the planning committee for the Local Government Conference held at SUNY Potsdam since 1997, past president and an active member of the St. Lawrence County Municipal Clerks Association, and she also serves on the Records Advisory Committee for Region 4.
On the local level, Cindy has been involved in many activities, including Potsdam Figure Skating Club, the Town of Potsdam Bicentennial Committee, the St. Mary’s Parish Census Committee and she recently served on the Village of Potsdam Dissolution Study Committee.
Cindy and her husband Joe have been married 35 years. They have three married children Joey and Nikita Goliber of Potsdam, Kristin and Zach Richardson of Saratoga, and Cara and Bernie Adams of Central Square.
